The test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka concludes at the Wanderers this week, the game gets underway on Thursday and South Africa are looking for a clean sweep in the three match series.
A series win was secured by the Proteas at Newlands last week as the hosts continued their dominance of a youthful Sri Lankan side. The margin of victory was 282 runs and there were notable performances from Dean Elgar with the bat (129 and 55) and Quinton de Kock also hit a century in the first innings. The star bowlers were Rabada and Philander who took 10 wickets and seven wickets respectively as Sri Lanka were outclassed.
South Africa won the first test in Port Elizabeth by 206 runs and now bid to for a whitewash before attention switches to three T20’s and five ODI’s. With Kyle Abbott no longer a factor Wayne Parnell could get a start at the Wanderers whilst Duanne Olivier of the Knights is a potential debutant if the selectors opt for an all pace attack.
