Kourtney Compton’s Week 15 NFL Picks

We are approaching the last month of the NFL season, and if we’ve learnt one thing about the NFL this year, it’s parity. But the AFC playoff picture should be clearer after this week. I know I’ve said that pretty much every week for the past month but this time I really mean it. There are three division clinching match-ups in play for the Broncos, Patriots and Colts. Only three weeks remain in the regular season, yet not a single team has clinched a playoff spot. A feat that hasn’t happened since 1979. (CBSSports.com) So, with the post season just around the corner, who will rise to the occasion and who will fall? Now let’s get to the picks.

**

Games to Watch:

Arizona Cardinals (10-3) at St. Louis Rams (6-7) Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at 8:25pm ET
There’s not a whole lot better then a solid thursday night match-up, it’s a little taste of the awesome that is to come Sunday. The Rams are surging coming off two back-to-back shutouts. I don’t see the Rams continuing to dominate against the division leaders. This will be a battle of the defenses. The Rams will keep it close but the Cardinals will break through.

Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5) at Atlanta Falcons (5-8) Sunday, December 14th, 2014 at 1:00pm ET
Last week, Julio Jones single-handedly almost took down Green Bay before his hip injury so if he plays it should be a good one. But even if out the Steelers’ pass defense will struggle here in a big way. Plus, we all know the Steelers only come up big against tough teams and flail against sub-par teams. Atlanta takes it at home.

Houston Texans (7-6) at Indianapolis Colts (9-4) Sunday, December 14th, 2014 at 1:00pm ET

If the Colts win they can lock up their division for the second year in a row. If the Texans lose their playoff hopes are all but dashed. Last week, we saw Luck’s offensive line struggle to squeak out a win against the Browns. However, Luck outmanned Fitzpatrick earlier in the season by 6, paired with two consecutive road games for the Texans. I see the Colts coming out on top.
