CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) today announced the names of the three umpires who will benefit from the exchange programme that CSA runs in partnership with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket Australia (CA) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

Bongani Jele will stand in two four-day Sheffield Shield matches in Australia; Allahudien Paleker will stand in two four-day Ranji Trophy matches in India; and Babalo Gcuma will stand in two four-day Plunkett Shield matches in New Zealand.

All three are members of CSA’s first-class panel and both Paleker and Jele were part of the exchange system last season as well.

“Congratulations to all three umpires on their overseas appointments,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat. “We strive to develop our match officials to be among the best in the world and who in turn make important contributions to place South African cricket as a world leader in the sport of cricket.

“These overseas appointments are as exciting as they are important in developing our match officials and I would like to thank the BCCI, CA and NZC for their co-operation in this valuable project.”
