THE Unlimited Titans have focused their energy on improving their seam bowling performance when they host the Chevrolet Knights at SuperSport Park in Friday’s televised RAM SLAM T20 clash.

The four Titans seamers conceded a combined 153 runs in just 12 overs as they lost their opening fixture to the Cobras on the weekend, and captain Henry Davids confirmed it is a department that has received its due attention this week.

“It is an area that we’re looking at because even in the Momentum Cup we weren’t on the button,” he said.

“We’ve addressed it over the past few days and I think the guys are a lot clearer about their plans and how they’re going to go about their business. Now it’s just about executing it on the day.”

Davids is one of the two players that the Knights have been giving plenty of thought to ahead of Friday’s game, with former Knights player Dean Elgar the other.

Both openers scored 72 on Sunday as they put on a stand of 151, and will be crucial once again on Friday given that the Titans side remain heavily depleted with several of their players away on Proteas duty.

“Dean’s definitely one of their form players, but we know him well so I think guys know how to bowl to him to try and restrict him as much as possible,” Knights batsman Rudi Second said.

“They obviously rely on those two quite heavily up front so it’s key for us to break that partnership early and get them quite cheaply.”

Both franchises have fully fit squads to choose from, although Knights seamer Corne Dry is struggling with a shoulder niggle.

The game gets underway at 6pm and will be shown live on SuperSport 2. Since the match is televised, fans attending can participate in the “Win Your Share of a Million competition” by taking a one handed clean catch. This competition is open to anybody over the age of 18 and is for South African Citizens only. Full Terms and conditions for the competition can be found at www.cricket.co.za.
