As a leading sports and fitness institute, eta College is constantly coming up with ways to enhance its service offering at nine campuses throughout South Africa. The Pretoria campus was recently presented with a fantastic opportunity, which was taken without hesitation.
We are therefore extremely proud to announce that our campus is relocating to SuperSport Park. The move to this new venue, just a few kilometres down the road from the current campus in Southdowns, will take place in January 2015. Commenting on the reason for the move, eta College founder Steve Harris says, “The SAX Arena in Southdowns was a great place to host our first campus in Pretoria, but we are quickly outgrowing the venue. Our student applications are on the increase and we need a larger facility to comfortably host the new students. SuperSport Park is the perfect fit, where students will be exposed to great teaching and learning facilities and resources, as well as a branded sport environment with the best equipment on offer.”
SuperSport Park is home to the Titans cricket team and as a highly regarded test venue, it boasts state of the art facilities. It regularly hosts regional, national and international cricket fixtures. It is however, not only a cricket stadium, but a multi-purpose venue which regularly hosts other events that will provide students with the opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of sport, social and community development activities.
The stadium is located on the corner of South Street and West Avenue and has cultivated a strong sporting culture in the area for more than 20 years. Situated in a prime position it is in close proximity to shops and public transport pick-up points, including the Gautrain, makes it extremely convenient for eta College students.
Despite all the added benefits of moving to such an illustrious environment, the course fees at eta Pretoria will not increase; they will remain the same as those at all other eta campuses.
Regional Manager for Gauteng, Wian de Wet is very excited about the prospect of being associated with an exceptional internationally respected cricket brand such as the Titans. This relationship reflects eta’s vision to be the best sport and fitness college in the world. He considers it a mutually beneficial agreement which will benefit the development of cricket in the region in several ways as well as expose eta College students to the various operational aspects of a multi-purpose international venue.
The experience students will gain by volunteering and getting involved in events hosted at the stadium will undoubtedly prove invaluable in preparing them even further for the demands of a career in the sport and fitness industry.
