It’s time to let your feet speak
Introducing ASICS FOOT ID, a revolutionary use of bio-mechanics in motion. ASICS FOOT ID is a shoe selection service, which will help in selecting the right shoes for you. As the official technical partner to the 2014 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, ASICS could not have introduced ASICS FOOT ID at a better time.
“The ASICS FOOT ID is a game changer for runners, as it provides an advice to ensure your feet are getting the best shoes. The process used to develop the ASICS FOOT ID comes from the ASICS Institute of Sport Science in Kobe, Japan and involves three steps to identify what your ideal running shoe is.’’ says Dawid Visser, ASICS South Africa Pty. ASICS FOOT ID Static : FOOT SHAPE ANALYSIS
In order to map the characteristics of the foot, the 3D Foot Mapping System uses both lasers and micro cameras. The results are then compared against a database and find the perfect-fitting running shoes.
Once the foot scan is complete, ASICS’ staff will review every aspect of each foot. To gauge which shoe fits the best, the screen shows a 3D reproduction of the foot. The ASICS FOOT ID measurements include, among other things, the foot’s length, forefoot’s circumference, heel width, instep height, arch height and the angle of the toes. The extensive knowledge obtained from the foot scan not only enables runners to find the right running shoe.
Let your feet speak – find the shoe that works best for you.
