Moses Mabhida Stadium is ready and looking forward to hosting the MTN8 Final between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday 20 September, kick off 8.15 pm We are proud to say this is the 7th Cup final the stadium and city of Durban has hosted since 2010, and made history for the fastest sell-out with all tickets snapped up in less than three hours. A capacity crowd of 52 854 is expected on Saturday including hospitality suites.
Forty percent of tickets for the match were purchased within Durban, 38% in the rest of KwaZulu-Natal and 22 % outside of KZN. We have projected a R1.8m net profit for Moses Mabhida Stadium and an economic impact for Durban of R68 million.
The game will be preceded by a mini concert featuring Oskido, Professor and Dr Malinga so ARRIVE EARLY and don’t miss out. Gates open at 4.30pm. In addition, there will also be a fan park screening the match on New Beach, open from 6pm and entry is free.
There will be two security check points in place before fans reach the turnstiles meaning delays are expected and people are encouraged to arrive early and allow more time to pass through the search areas.
Only fans with legitimate tickets will gain access to the stadium, those caught with fraudulent tickets will be arrested and face prosecution so don’t to be scammed by opportunists. We will also be on the lookout for people trying to sell tickets at inflated prices and encourage supporters not to buy these tickets.
