The largest global speciality health and wellness retailer, General Nutrition Centre (GNC) recently opened their first concept store in South Africa in Cresta Shopping Centre in Johannesburg.
Established in 1935 in the USA and now available in over 8 400 locations in 55 countries, GNC offers a wide range of vitamins, herbal supplements, sports nutrition and slimming products.
With more than 200 scientific minds powering the research and innovation behind their products and 150 manufacturing and quality checks, GNC sets the standard in the global nutritional supplement industry.
“We launched GNC in larger Clicks stores throughout South Africa in February and the brand has already gained a huge following of health conscious consumers who want to improve their wellbeing,” says Sean Kristafor, General Manager of GNC South Africa.
A second concept store has been scheduled to open in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town in May with several more to follow over the next year. Each store will have experienced and qualified nutrition advisors on hand to assist customers in finding the correct products to suit their unique needs.
GNC’s Cresta store will be one of the first in the country to feature the iGlass: an interactive touch screen built into the shop window which consumers can use to find out which products are right for them, do a health assessment as well as interact with GNC on social media.
GNC leads the market in demanding truth in labelling and ensures that all ingredients are clearly listed and safe for consumers.
“We are committed to providing quality sports nutrition products that are Informed Choice certified and free of banned substances, making our products ideal for everyday people that are health conscious as well as professional athletes like our brand ambassador Chad le Clos” said Kristafor.
