Super Rugby Round 7 Preview

Overall record: 21-15 (58,33%)

Last week: 5-2 (71.42%)

Crusaders vs Hurricanes

Saders coming off a bye shouldn’t find beating this Canes side too difficult a task. The away team have been terrible on defence, and I can’t see that improving this week.

Prediction: Crusaders by 9

Rebels vs Brumbies

My expectations for the Rebels this season are slowly diminishing week by week, and I can’t see that changing against a very strong Brumbies side, not even at home.

Prediction: Brumbies by 15

Blues vs Highlanders

Toughest game for me to call this weekend, both teams have looked equally good at times, as well as equally bad. In the end the simple fact that Landers have been close in all the games they lost, showed a more consistent team for me, and so I am backing them for the win here.

Prediction: Highlanders by 6

Reds vs Stormers

Another tough one to call, Reds struggled during their tour of SA. Granted they will be a completely different team at home, but I still feel the Stormers are due a win now, they’re getting closer and closer every week. Backing the boys from Cape Town to get over the line here…. just.

Prediction: Stormers by 6

Bulls vs Chiefs

Bulls finally showed everyone what I have been saying about the Sharks. They are not nearly as good as everyone is making them out to be. Expect the home side to keep their momentum going against this Chiefs side who will be low on confidence after a shock loss to the Force last week.

Prediction: Bulls by 6

Sharks vs Waratahs

Sharks have made some odd changes this week, and if the Tahs had Folau in their side I would have no trouble backing them to win here. The fact that his injured though makes this a really tough one to pick. Deciding to go with my initial feeling though, and that is a Waratahs win.

Prediction: Waratahs by 6

Force, Cheetahs, and Lions have byes this week.
