The JP Morgan-sponsored Team Laureus is taking part in the Cape Epic to raise awareness for the work of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation which supports projects on every continent and uses the positive power of sport to tackle society’s most pressing challenges.

On Saturday, 22 March, Laureus SA Trustee, Iain Banner, accompanied Butch James, Jade Gutzeit, Josef Ajram and Rafael Medina for a fun ride with the Hout Bay Cycling Project.  This well-supported project of the Laureus Foundation South Africa is giving youngsters from Imizamo Yethu community the opportunity to experience the world of cycling while offering a healthy alternative to negative influences in their informal settlement.

As part of their sponsorship of Team Laureus for the Cape Epic, JP Morgan is donating funds to the Laureus Foundation South Africa which supports 16 sports-based community programmes nationwide.  Since its inception it has raised over R32 million for projects which have helped to improve the lives of more than 10 600 young people.
