Fans of rugby will be able to take their experience to a new level with a recently launched website called myPredictor.co.za. The first installment of the myPredictor Rugby game is based on the 2014 Super 15 rugby tournament, which sees teams from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand competing against each other. The myPredictor game which is one of the first of its kind, is free to play and offers participants the opportunity to predict the 15 teams’ positions in the log, as well as the winner and runner up, in one of the biggest sports tournaments of the year.
This fun and innovative website is user friendly and due to responsive technology, scales seamlessly to any device, including tablets and phones, which invites the fastest game play. The game is designed around social media, and the objective of the game is to end up on top of the leader board, a 100% accurate prediction for the entire season should assure this.
The game is free to play, but setting the stakes a little bit higher, there is a R1 million cash prize up for grabs for the person who gets the 100% correct prediction and completes the requirements setout by at least one of the game’s sponsors.
Veteran rugby referee, Jonathan Kaplan, will be the face and spokesperson of myPredictor and will write weekly articles for the website with his predictions, opinions and feedback on games as the season progresses, helping players to get to the 100% honours. Kaplan had the following to say on his involvement in myPredictor, “I have been approached by myPredictor to act as their brand ambassador for the launch of this exciting product. My role will be to create awareness and stimulate interest around myPredictor by promoting it and generally keeping it at the forefront of the public domain as we head towards the start of the 2014 rugby season. I will be offering my opinion on a variety of matters including the strength of the teams, the balance and depth they have in their squads, the number of playmakers and game breakers, the experience within the squads, the effects of the laws on the game and much more.”
The myPredictor game has already started, and if players want to also participate in the R1million competition they have until the 27th of February 2014 to make their rugby picks and finalize all the requirements for their entry.
As the season progresses, participants’ scores will be tracked and published for every selection they have made on the log, bringing them closer to the top of the leaderboard and potentially the R1 million cash prize.
There is a large interactive element to the website with an online community allowing one to add friends, compare logs, have banter with mates and brag on social media.
myPredictor’s primary sponsor is the new online sports betting website BetFlash, which is an exciting new online sports betting portal targeted towards the passionate South African sports fan. Samantha McMurtrie, General Manager of BetFlash had the following to say about their sponsorship of myPredictor “We’re so excited about this sponsorship. myPredictor is a revolutionary product which ties in with the love of the game, the social camaraderie, and the competitive edge that BetFlash, and rugby fans are all about! A R1 Million prize is a sure target to help anyone keep their eyes on the ball!’’
