Hottie of the Month: July – Emily Kate Johnston

Halfway stage in 2013, and I can’t think of a more perfect way to start the 2nd half of the year than by checking out this months Hottie, Emily Kate Johnston. Enjoy!

Hobbies: I love dancing, going to rugby and cricket games, and most of all croc spotting, being around animals in their natural habitat is one of the most amazing experiences. I went to Sabi Sabi a reserve wildlife park in South Africa in 2007 and that was absolutely incredible, one of the very few times I was excited to wake up at 5am

Likes: Sunny beach days, Bollywood films, admiring positive qualities in different personalities

Dislikes: Cruelty, selfishness and egotistical behaviour

If there was only one sport you could do, as well as watch, what would it be?

That’s a hard one there’s so many! I’d have to say a cricket all-rounder, it takes a lot of skill and strategy to be able to bat and bowl well and it’s so exciting to watch, especially T20

What are your earliest memories of experiences involving sport that you can remember? One good and one bad 🙂

Good was my first athletics carnival when I was 5 that was where my love for running began and bad probably when I played dodgeball and got clean hit right in the face, not one of my best moments.

I take it you watched the IPL!? Thoughts on this years tournament?

I have to say going to the IPL matches in India there’s nothing that compares to it! I’ve been fortunate enough to attend sporting matches all over the world but the excitement and electric atmosphere of a cricket match in India is unbeatable. I’ve been based in India since February this year for work and the IPL tournament has been the highlight without a doubt.

Which professional athlete do you have a crush on? 😉

I’m not that into soccer but Christiano Ronaldo is pretty easy on the eyes. A few indian cricket players were rather cute Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Siddarth Kaul

What type of guys generally catch the attention of a pretty woman like yourself?

I’m a sucker for kindness, but I observe how he treats others because it is very easy to pretend to be kind to the girl you like, but how you are when you think no one is paying attention is a clear indication of the true person. Also I don’t think I could be with someone who didn’t make me laugh because I love laughing, almost a little too much

If you had to do a photoshoot with any professional sportsman or sportswoman, who would it be, and why?

Someone really strong like Patrick Willis of the NFL who could toss me in the air and catch me as if I were a feather, that would be so much fun!

A perfect date involving a sporting event/activity would be?

Going to an NBA game, I think that’s the perfect sport for a date because you’re right in among all the action, it’s fast paced I like that and it would definitely make the date memorable because you’d tye in the thrill of the match to the person you went with subconsciously. Or bowling so you can chit chat between turns but that’s more of a group date scenario

Lastly, is there anything you would like to say to the readers of SA Sports Blog?

Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t achieve something positive whether that be a dream career or life goals, the only thing in life that gets in the way of who you want to be is yourself. And treat others how you want to be treated, love your neighbour as yourself.
