SA players to watch in IPL 2013

The 6th edition of the IPL is in full swing, and while some of the South Africans are still back in SA for their domestic competition, they will be making their appearance in the IPL very soon. Here is a list of SA players I think need to be looked out for in IPL 6.

Jacques Kallis

It is impossible to make a list like this and not have him in, arguably the best all-rounder in existence, he always churns out a good performance with either bat, ball, or more often than not, both.

Dale Steyn

The best Test bowler in the world will always make this list, even with T20 being a completely different game, when Steyn is at his fluent, mesmerising best, he is simply unplayable.

AB de Villiers

He will go into this IPL in great form on the international stage, and that should stand him in good stead for this tournament. He will also most likely be taking the gloves for RCB too.

Wayne Parnell

He has been out of the international scene for a while, and the time away seems to have helped his game a lot. He has got his superb death bowling back, and has improved his batting capabilities immensely. He will definitely be a factor in this years IPL.

Quinton de Kock

A lot depends on how often he is picked, but if he gets a decent amount of games under his belt, he could be a big threat going into the 2nd half of the competition.

Morne Morkel

He found his T20 form in last years IPL, and I am sure he will pick up from where he left off in this years tournament.

Roelof van der Merwe

Should he get a chance in the strong Daredevils line-up, Roelof will turn a few heads I am sure. He has been very good in the SA domestic competition not only with ball, but with bat as well. He has been coming in at number 3, and on regular occasions got his team off to a brilliant start.

Albie Morkel

Destructive batting the death is what gets him on this list, but he also seems to do a much better job with the ball in the IPL than anywhere else.

The players I have left out are either due to injury, or simply because I don’t feel they will be much of a factor in this years IPL. If you feel there is a player that should be in it that I have left out, please leave a comment on who else you think should have been included.
