Super Rugby Round 6 Review

Tight matches. Epic contests. Upset wins. This round had it all, so lets get to the review.

Chiefs vs Highlanders

Highlanders showed signs of what people expected of them at the start of the season, but still made too many silly errors in the match to have any hopes of getting one over on this classy Chiefs outfit.

Crusaders vs Southern Kings

What can I say… Crusaders were way too good, and while the Kings were competitive when the Crusaders subs came on, they were never in the match. That is all.

Reds vs Bulls

The 9 changes were always going to hurt the Bulls going into this match, and while they came close to pulling of what would have been an upset, the Reds just managed to hang on for the win.

Western Force vs Cheetahs

Cheetahs more than impressive tour ended in emphatic fashion with their 3rd straight win on tour, this time against the Force who were playing their first home game of the season, and while the match could have gone either way, it didn’t go the way the home fans would have wanted.

Sharks vs Melbourne Rebels

Records were broken in this one as the Sharks ran in their most ever tries in a single SR match to absolutely slaughter the Rebels. Not bad for a team that couldn’t score tries before this match.

Stormers vs Brumbies

Stormers physicality on defence was really the difference between these two, as the Brumbies suffered their first defeat of the competition, while the Stormers continue to get their season back on track.

Waratahs vs Blues

Waratahs pulling off a remarkable win against the much fancied Blues, who started the season like the Blues of old, but are starting to look more like the Blues of last season now. (Ignore what I said in my preview, I knew the Tahs would win all along 😉 )
