England v South Africa, 1st T20 Preview & Prediction

The Proteas will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing ICC Champions Trophy when they take on England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton in the 1st of 3 T20 Internationals on Wednesday.

These sides met in the 50 over format just prior to the Champions Trophy with England winning the 3 match series 2-1.

England came through the group stages of the ICC Champions trophy unbeaten but were shocked by Pakistan in the semi-finals.  As far as T20 cricket goes they were last in action back in February of this year when they lost a 3 match series 2-1 in India.

The Proteas have played 4 T20 matches in 2017 losing a home series 2-1 to Sri Lanka and then beating New Zealand in a 1 off match on the road.

These sides last met in T20 cricket in the World Cup in India in 2016 with England coming out the victors in a group match.

England are 13/20 to win the 3 match series with South Africa priced at 12/10 – click here for series outright betting.

Suggested bet:  Top Away Batsman AB De Villiers at 28/10

AB will be captain of team as Faf Du Plessis has returned to South Africa for the birth of his child. De Villiers took a lot of criticism in the Champions Trophy and I expect him to bounce back in a format where he has extensive experience and has performed consistently.
