Pakistan v India, Champions Trophy Final, Preview & Prediction

Pakistan and India meet for the second time in The ICC Champions Trophy when they take each other on in the final at The Oval on Sunday

Pakistan vs India

Pakistan finished 2nd in their group after bouncing back from an opening defeat to India to beat South Africa on the Duckworth Lewis method and then see off Sri Lanka in their final group match.

They went into their semi-final against England as underdogs but quickly got themselves into a position of power, bowling England out for 211 in 49.5 overs.  All of the bowlers performed well but pick of the bunch was Hasan Ali with 3 for 35 in his 10 overs.  Junaid Khan and Rumman Raees also picked up 2 wickets apiece.  Pakistan began their response in positive fashion with openers Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman both getting 50’s as they chased down the target with 8 wickets and 12.5 overs to spare.

India topped their qualification group with victories over South Africa and Pakistan and a surprise loss to Sri Lanka.  They went into their semi-final against Bangladesh as massive favourites and they delivered in no uncertain terms.  Bangladesh were restricted to 264 runs in their 50 overs and Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 39 in his 10 overs.  Jadhav and Kumar also picked up 2 wickets.  India started briskly with Dhawan the first to be dismissed for 46 off 34 balls and they never looked back from there, winning the game by 9 wickets with almost 10 overs in hand.  Sharma finished on an unbeaten 123 and captain Kohli on an unbeaten 96.

Suggested Bet:  Total Runs in Match – under 555.5 at 5/6

Pakistan have done brilliantly to reach this point but I suspect their run will end against India who in my opinon are the best rounded team in the tournament. The Oval has served up a mixed bag of high and low scoring games but with these 2 bowling attacks I would not be surprised if the bowlers get amongst the wickets and I am looking for under 556 runs in the game.
