Group A Portugal v Mexico
After host nation Russia and New Zealand got the tournament and Group A underway on Sunday, Euro 2016 champions Portugal enter the fray against CONCACAF Gold Cup winners Mexico.
Portugal are making their first appearance in this tournament and they arrive in decent shape. Since the Euro 2016 final win over France qualification for World Cup 2018 has been the primary focus and although they lost their first group match 2-0 away to Switzerland, they have reeled off five subsequent wins, most recently a 3-0 victory away in Latvia. Ronaldo is the star turn, he is in the squad and istrading as favourite in the “Top tournament Goalscorer” market.
Mexico’s last Confed Cup appearance came in 2013 when they failed to make it out of a tough group, losing to Italy (2-1) Brazil (2-0) before a consolation 2-1 win over Japan. They won this trophy in 1999 when they were the host nation and they also bring some useful World Cup 2018 qualification form into the tournament. Mexico have won four and drawn two of their World Cup qualifiers and they are on course to return to Russia next year, currently holding a three point lead over Costa Rica in their region. Recent friendly internationals against European opposition delivered a 3-1 win over Ireland and a 2-1 loss to Croatia.

Bet: Match result draw at 22/10
This looks set to be tight and given losing your first game leaves you with a mountain to climb to make it to the semi finals, we fancy both sides would not be too unhappy with a draw.
