Alexander Zverev v John Isner, Preview & Prediction

The 1st of the Italian Open semi-finals take place in Rome on Sunday with the young Alexander Zverev up against tour veteran John Isner and we suggest a bet in the match.

Alexander Zverev v John Isner

Alexander Zverev the 16th seed took just 90 minutes to advance to his 1st ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final at the tender age of 20. He beat the 5th seed Milos Raonic in two sets 7-6 (4) and 6-1 having also had comfortable straight set wins in the round of 16 and 32. The German is currently the youngest player in the ATP top 50.

He will now face John Isner who is unseeded and reached the last 4 after defeating 6th seed Marin Cilic in a match which was dominated by the serve.  Isner served 21 aces and took 2 hours and 38 minutes to win in 3 sets 7-6 (3), 2-6 and 7-6 (2).  Isner came through his previous 2 matches in straight sets but he did require a tie breaker in each match and in his last 7 sets played 4 have been tie breakers.

In the head to head Zverev leads Isner 2-0 with both matches played on hard courts.

Zverev 3/10

Isner 23/10

Suggested Bet: 1st set total games over 10.5 at 9/10

Zverev should have the beating of Isner, especially on clay, but the Isner serve will be hard to break especially when he is fresh. When these players last met all 3 sets were tie breakers and as mentioned above Isner has played in plenty if long sets already.
