Mumbai Indians

Mumbai blew their first chance to reach the final, losing the first Qualifier to Rising Pune by 20 runs on Tuesday. Mumbai had home advantage in that game but they came up well short of RPS’ bat first total of 162/4. Given Mumbai topped the log at the end of the regular season with a record of 10 wins and 4 defeats they now get a second bite at the cherry when it comes to reaching the final.

Parthiv Patel with 377 runs and Kieron Pollard (369) are Mumbai’s leading run scorers in the tournament whilst with the ball Mitchell McClenaghan (19 wickets) and Jasprit Bumrah (15) have led a well balanced attack.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Knight Riders are bidding to take the long route to glory and they survived the first hurdle, Wednesday’s eliminator against the Sunrisers which was also staged in Bangalore. Rain at the innings break reduced the contest to just 6 overs per side and batting second the Knight Riders were set a revised target of 48. Despite losing 3 wickets in the first 7 deliveries skipper Gautam Gambhir got them home with 32 off 19.

In the regular season the Knight Riders finished fourth on the log with a record of 8 wins and 6 defeats, surviving a wobble towards the end of the round robin with 4 defeats in their last 5. Gautam Gambhir is KKR’s leading run scorer with 486 and Manish Pandey has 396. With the ball Chris Woakes has 17 wickets although he is now on international duty but Umesh Yadav (16) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (14) form part of one of the better bowling attacks in the tournament.

Betting Angle

The match result looks ultra tough to call so we look to the exotics for a pick. The venue for this game at Bangalore has not been anything like as high scoring as we have seen in previous seasons and with two good bowling attacks on view the highest individual score may not reach 70.

Bet: Highest Individual Score, under 69.5 runs at 5/6 Bet Here
