Dominic Thiem v Pablo Cuevas

The 8th seed Dominic Thiem had few problems in seeing off Borna Coric in the last 4 coming through in straight sets 6-1 6-4. He had previously been given a much harder battle by 12 seed Dimitrov in the last 16 where he required a 3rd set tie breaker to advance.

Pablo Cuevas came back from a set down to reach the last 4 when he defeated Alexander Zverev in 3 sets 3-6, 6-0 and 6-2.  This victory made it his 4th straight 3 set win of the week and he is certainly working hard for his cash in Madrid.

In the head to head these players have only met once and that was on clay in the 2015 French Open. Cuevas won in 4 very tight sets.

Thiem 4/10

Cuevas 19/10

Suggested Bet: Correct Set Score – Thiem 2-0 at 21/20

This won’t be as easy a match for Thiem as the outright betting suggests but he should have the fresher legs and can get up in straight sets.
