We are down to the last 2 players in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell and the final takes place on Sunday when Dominic Thiem takes on Rafael Nadal

Dominic Thiem the 4th seed had a three set win (6-2, 3-6 and 6-4) over the top seed Andy Murray in the semi-final and advances to his 12thATP World Tour Title final.  It was Dominic Thiem’s first win in three Fedex head to head meetings with Murray and also his first win over a World Number 1.  In the quarter-finals he had a two set victory 6-1 and 6-2 over Yuichi Sugita.

He will now face Rafael Nadal the 3rd seed and defending champion who reached the final with a straight sets win 6-3 and 6-4 over unseeded Horacio Zeballos.  In the quarter-finals he also took 2 sets to beat Hyeo Chung 7-6 (1) and 6-2. Nadal will be going for his 10th title at Barcelona.

In the head to head Nadal leads Thiem 2-1. The most recent meeting came in 2016 at the Monte Carlo Masters and Nadal won 7-5, 6-3. All three head to heads have gone to 3 sets.
