The first of this weekend’s English Premier League previews features Chelsea’s home game against Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.
All teams in the EPL have played 7 matches and after starting really well Chelsea have lost some ground on the leading group. They return to action 5 points off the pace being set by Manchester City and in addition to City there are 5 other sides above Chelsea in the standings. Two defeats this season came against teams considered as rivals in the title race, Liverpool who won 2-1 here and Arsenal who brushed Chelsea aside 3-0 at the Emirates. Chelsea have beaten Leicester once this season, coming through a League Cup tie 4-2 away from home thanks to 2 extra time goals from Fabregas after the scores were level at 2-2 at the end of the 90 minutes.
Leicester have so far been strong at home in the league but there will be a concern about their away form and in particular their defensive record. They crashed 4-1 at both Liverpool and Manchester United and also left Hull City empty handed after a 2-1 defeat. They have looked a different proposition in the Champions League group stage after 2 wins from 2 matches but domestically it’s that away record that sees them no higher than twelfth in the standings.

Suggested Bet: First goalscorer Eden Hazard at 19/4
Diego Costa has already scored six goals in the league this season but the man who has opened the scoring twice in Chelsea’s 7 league matches is Eden Hazard. The Belgian ace also takes the penalties for Chelsea and he gets our vote as first goalscorer here.
