The Porsche European Open 2016, Betting Preview

The Beckenbauer Course in the Golf Resort Bad Griesbach in Germany plays host to this week’s European Tour event from the 22nd to the 25th of September.

The Course
This event returned to the calendar in 2015 and the Beckenbauer Course is once again the host. The par 71 layout is fairly forgiving and recent heavy rains should ensure that the big hitters are advantaged and the scores are low.

Past winners

2015 – Thongchai Jaidee -19

Betting

Kaymer 10/1

Pieters 10/1

Wiesberger 12/1

Hend 28/1

Canizares 28/1

Bland 30/1

33/1 and better the balance.

My selections for this week:

Brandon Stone each way at 66/1

The South African has been a bit inconsistent since winning his home Open earlier this year but he has looked pretty good of late and in a weak field the South African can challenge.

Thomas Pieters win only at 10/1

There is a danger he will be distracted by his Ryder Cup debut next week but such is his form and the relative weakness of the field that I am going to have a “win only” go at the big hitter this week.

Ross Fisher each way at 55/1

Fisher has an excellent record in Germany and is striking the ball well at the moment. He has put in some impressive displays this season and at the price I want him on board this week.
