- THE STIG ATTEMPTS CAR BUNGEE IN A LOTUS F1 CAR FOR TOP GEAR FESTIVAL DURBAN
- VISITORS AT THE FESTIVAL WILL GET A UNIQUE CHANCE TO SEE THE INCREDIBLE STUNT, LIVE
Top Gear Festival Durban will be the location for a world first this weekend, featuring a Lotus F1 car a 120m bungee and The Stig. Recently released footage on YouTube showed Stig breaking in to the factory and changing delivery instructions for the F1 car to Durban for this weekend’s Top Gear Festival. Fans speculated online as to what The Stig was up to, and now they know: he’s going to drop it from a 120m high crane.
Produced in association with Shield and the Lotus F1 Team, the custom built stunt, which will result in the F1 car dropping 393 feet with The Stig behind the wheel, will take place on both days, live at the Festival. And for those that can’t be there to watch it unfold, footage of the stunt will be released online in the weeks following.
The unique format of Top Gear Festival provides fans with a full day of high-octane entertainment and with this new element for 2014 the team have set the bar for an even bigger and better extravaganza. In addition to the excitement of flat-out thrills on the custom-built street circuit and dramatic arena show staged in the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium the action will spill out on to the peoples park with this incredible stunt.
Tens of thousands of petrolheads are expected to attend the Festival this weekend. A variety of ticket types are still available and tickets start from just R260. Festivalgoers are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out on the most exciting event on this year’s entertainment and motoring calendar.
