Super Rugby Round 6 Preview

16-13 our record now, can’t afford another bad weekend this time round. Feel good about this weeks picks though, so let’s get to them.

Highlanders vs Hurricanes

Tough call to start the week, with Landers losing to Force many will back the Canes, but Force are the Landers bogey side so I don’t think one can read too much into that loss. Backing the home side here.

Prediction: Highlanders by 6

Waratahs vs Melbourne Rebels

Both sides coming off a loss last week, and while I still do rate this Rebels team, I can’t see them getting a win away against this Tahs side who will be eager to bounce back strongly.

Prediction: Waratahs by 15

Blues vs Cheetahs

Two sides struggling at the moment, but with Blues returning home and facing a Cheetahs side who have been horrific on defence, I see a home win on the cards here.

Prediction: Blues by 8

Brumbies vs Stormers

Low scoring, scrappy affair on the cards in this one. Brumbies should come out on top, but it won’t be pretty.

Prediction: Brumbies by 6

Western Force vs Chiefs

Force on cloud 9 at the moment with back to back victories, but I reckon they will be brought back down to earth against this Chiefs side that will simply be too good for them.

Prediction: Chiefs by 9

Lions vs Reds

Can anybody say CRACKER?! This match has all the makings of a great contest. Backing the Reds only because I am not the biggest of Lions fans haha, but really this is a 50/50 call.

Prediction: Reds by 7

Bulls vs Sharks

The mighty Sharks that everyone thinks are so great this season with John Smit and Jake White in the background are going to LOSE this week. They may have won all their games but they have  not impressed me like a team with all the stars the Sharks have should. They travel to Loftus, a place they just can’t ever seem to win at, against a Bulls side that looks to be coming right, they are also fresh off a bye and are building confidence fast. Backing the Home team in this one.

Prediction: Bulls by 6

Crusaders have a bye this week
