About Jacques Kallis’ Power Through moment

Having the ability to power through moments of doubt with unwavering grit is what sets the history makers apart from the great players, particularly in the game of cricket where encounters can last days and your personal performance demands hours of concentration and determination.

Jacques Kallis: SA vs India 1st Test: 16-20 Dec 2010; Supersport Park

Proteas all-rounder, Jacques Kallis, has proven beyond any doubt his versatility and mental steadfastness time and time again.  It was only after 143 matches and a mammoth 242 innings that Kallis was able to finally join the double century club, creating a moment of history that is truly reserved for only the best cricket players in the world.  Not bad going for a man who, prior to reaching his double century against India in December 2010 – a full 15 years after his Protea debut – remained the only player in the top 15 test run-scorers not to have reached 200.  A lesser man, a weaker mental player, would have flailed under the pressure, but instead Kallis embraced it, using the mounting tension to dig deep, unearthing that extra 10% effort that takes you from a great cricketer, to a global powerhouse.
