Johannesburg – At the beginning of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, BMW South Africa, the official vehicle partner to the Springboks, created an interactive area called the BMW Challenge, where fans attending the games could test their performance against their favourite rugby players.
Following its brilliant reception with fans at FNB Stadium during the Springbok/Argentina Test Match in August, the BMW Challenge will once again be in full force as the Springboks take on the All Blacks this coming Saturday (5 October 2013) at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.
Schalk Burger, amoung other players, has encouraged fans attending the match to pit their power, dynamism and agility against them and race the likes of JJ Engelbrecht, Jan Serfontein, Pierre Spies, Jean de Villiers as well as Gio Aplon and Juan de Jongh over a 12m “pick and go” in real time on a life-size LED wall.
They can also test their scrumming power against the best in the Bok pack.
Fans will also be able to interact on Facebook and Twitter to brag about their Ultimate Performance against the Springboks, using the hashtag #BMWChallenge.
The BMW Challenge will be open to the public from 12:00 and will be closed during the match. Some of BMW‘s Springbok Rugby Ambassadors such as Victor Matfield and Pierre Spies will be roaming the area during the day, partaking in the hype and interacting with fans.
