Bafana march on

Earlier this month after Bafana Bafana’s opening AFCON match, I wrote a post where I basically said how I felt, and that was that Bafana simply weren’t a good enough team to win the tournament. (Link to that post: http://sasportsblog.net/2013/01/20/do-bafana-really-have-it-in-them-to-win-afcon-2013/)¬†Well it brings me great pleasure to say they have proven me wrong and that they do in fact have all the tools required to win AFCON 2013.

They showed they can come back from tough times after their opening match draw (which quite frankly might not have been as bad a performance as we thought, because Cape Verde have been brilliant) to go on and outplay Angola. Completely and win 2-0.

Then to be able to stay focused after that high and get done what was needed in the last group game vs Morocco.

They showed a ‘never say die’ attitude to come back from a goal down twice vs Morocco to finish top of their group, and that also shows me that BMT (big match temperament) will not be a problem for this team.

Lastly and maybe most importantly, it was very true what my friend JP said to me “boy for once luck went our way” was the mans wise words, and this is so true after so many years of bad luck plaguing SA teams, maybe this will finally be the tournament where luck is in our court”
