Brilliant vibe at St Georges

On 7 November I went to go watch the Chevrolet Warriors take on the Lions in a Momentum 1 Day Cup match at Axxess DSL St Georges in Port Elizabeth, and while the result might have not gone my teams way, it didn’t take away the great time I had.

It was a small crowd that filled up a little bit in the evening when everyone got off work, but regardless of how few people there were, the vibe at the ground was brilliant, you have the controversial EP crowd mixed with the St Georges band that go to all of the games in PE just to add some GEES, and then you throw alcohol into the mix, and everything becomes more festive.

So I can only imagine how great it would be having a full stadium for one of these games, and I urge anyone who is reading this that lives nearby the stadium, show up for a game, even if you go for a good time more than to watch the cricket, the tickets are more than affordable, selling at R25 for the grass banks area, and there are wonderful food stalls there as well to ensure you have a good time. So again, if you’re nearby, why not go to a game just to see what it’s like, believe me it’s worth it!

  1. I would love to add myself to the crowd! However I must first solve the issue of getting a job in South Africa 🙂
Btw it seems from the pic that there are predominantly young people in the stadium.
